I do love the K8 - there used to be one in the village where I was born until a few years ago (actually it's probably longer than that - I'm getting old and time seems to fly by . . .) but it's no longer there - I can't believe there's only twelve left !

Despite what the 20th Century Society claim, the K8 certainly wasn't vandal proof. The one on our local "rough" estate was almost always minus its windows.
Some above-ground Tube stations seem to have K8s in LU livery on the platforms with a staff telephone in them. I think there's one at Whitechapel.
