"An intoxication comes over the man who walks long and aimlessly through the streets. With each step, the walk takes on greater moment" - Walter Benjamin (1999): The Arcades Project . Cambridge MA and London: Harvard University Press.
I'd had a lot on my mind, and didn't want to do too much in London so I went for a walk along the Thames, from my friend Cas's house in Vauxhall to the Design Museum. It took me all morning but was just what I needed. I felt like a flâneur with lots of London phrases in my head: London kills me; A man could lose himself in London. Lose himself; London belongs to me. By the time I got to the end of it my head was clear and I was ready for anything. This is what I saw on the way.
London.
February 2004.
It was overcast so the pics are a bit dull.
