Sweets can tell you a lot about a country. In Canada they're large and wholesome, designed to get you through a night on a snowy mountain. In America there's a sense of opportunity but the reality is a let down. Japan is a world of wonders, everything exquisitely crafted and surprisingly delicious. Norway is an unexpected treat - classic and rich. Sweden is a "series of heartbreaks" just like Bill Bryson said - the outside looks good but it's all too wholesome. In Australia it's pretty much the same as anywhere else but everything's got a funny name and they swear it's different.
